In light of recent acts of violence ostensibly committed to aid the anti-grunge cause, the Anti-Grunge Council issued this statement:
The Anti-Grunge Council completely condemns any form of violence committed in the name of clothing reform. The anti-grunge cause is best promoted through non-violent means of persuasion. The goal of the anti-grunge movement is to increase our numbers by converting the multitudes to the anti-grunge philosophy. This is an attainable end and violence is neither necessary nor productive in the pursuit of that goal. All forms of bloodshed are completely alien to the anti-grunge philosophy.
